Looking at the uproar, the varsity for now decided to take a back step and reversed its decision to introduce Manusmriti in the Law course. Talking to the media, VC Yogesh Singh said, “The varsity held a review meeting today around 2 pm and rejected the inclusion of the suggested readings on Manusmriti in the Jurisprudence (Legal Method) paper, by the Faculty of Law, before it will be tabled in the AC meeting tomorrow.”

During the event, PM Modi will also distribute certificates to more than 30,000 Self Help Groups (SHGs) as Krishi Sakhis and will present certificates to five Krishi Sakhis as a token gesture. Refuting all the news reports and concerns of EVM being operated with the OTP, returning officer Vandana Suryavanshi, in a press conference in Mumbai, clarified that voting machines do not require any OTP to function. She said, “It is a technically foolproof standalone device. There is no provision for wireless or wired communication with it. For EVMs, there is no need for an OTP. The results are generated by pressing a button”. Suryavanshi further accused the news of being false and unverified and said, “This is a complete lie being spread by a newspaper, which some leaders are using to create a false narrative”
