In a significant development, recent interviews of AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal with multiple news channels have come under scrutiny. The controversy erupted when viewers noticed nearly fixed questions and fixed answers being given across interviews on National Dastak, Janata Live, Nubt News, and Pal Pal News, leading to allegations of pre-scripted media interviews. Viewers also suspect that the interviews have been taken on same day and same place.
Arvind Kejriwal 's interviews originally intended to address the ongoing controversy surrounding Home Minister Amit Shah's statements about Babasaheb Ambedkar, have instead sparked a fresh debate about the authenticity of political interviews. The opposition leaders have pointed out that the interviews have fixed questions with fixed answers and truly contradicts the image of spontaneity and genuineness that Kejriwal's team has tried to cultivate.
Throughout the interviews Arvind Kejriwal pointed out various welfare schemes of his government for the Dalit community, including a comprehensive scholarship program- Dr Ambedkar Samman Scholarship for Dalit students pursuing education abroad and financial assistance for competitive exam coaching. He even quoted that his government has made sewer cleaning workers into contractors by providing them sewage cleaning machines and now they are generating job opportunities for others.
However, the opposition parties are quick in noticing the pattern of identical questions with identical answers across different news challenge and portray it as a publicity campaign rather than genuine concern for Dalits.
The controversy has also sparked a broader discussion about political authenticity. Media experts suggest that while preparation for interviews is standard practice but the level of similarity in Kejriwal's responses indicates a departure from genuine dialogue, potentially damaging public trust in political communication.
