Hisar Airport is steadily establishing itself as a key regional aviation hub in Haryana, recording more than 1,000 flights within just one year of operations. The rising number of flights indicates growing passenger demand and improved regional connectivity, giving a strong push to the state’s aviation ambitions.

However, the much-anticipated flight services to Ahmedabad and Jammu are yet to take off. These routes were part of an agreement signed nearly two years ago with Alliance Air, but delays occurred due to a shortage of aircraft. Now, the Haryana government is stepping in to fast-track the process and is expected to hold a meeting with airline officials soon.

Officials suggest that Ahmedabad could be the first of the pending routes to become operational, followed by Jammu. It can also be feasible to extend the present Chandigarh route to Jammu to ensure better connectivity without introducing a new flight altogether.

Hisar Airport was officially opened on April 14, 2025, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with regular flights to Ayodhya and Delhi. Flights to Chandigarh and Jaipur were later introduced to increase its operational reach.

Developments in infrastructure are also being made. The incorporation of Runway Visual Range (RVR) system means that flights can land with visibility down to 1,800 metres. As per future plans, more destinations will be added, and Hisar Airport is poised to become a key player in India’s regional aviation story.
