The Union Cabinet has approved a major infrastructure project to improve connectivity in the National Capital Region by constructing an elevated road corridor linking Faridabad with the upcoming Noida International Airport.
The project, estimated at ₹3,631 crore, will create a 7.8-km elevated road connecting Faridabad directly with the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway and providing faster access to the new airport at Jewar.
Officials said the corridor will significantly reduce travel time for passengers and cargo moving between Haryana and the airport, which is expected to become one of the country’s largest aviation hubs once operational.
The elevated road will also be connected with important transportation corridors such as the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, the Yamuna Expressway, and the Dedicated Freight Corridor. This will ensure the efficient movement of goods and people in the region, thereby improving the overall logistics efficiency in the NCR region.
The authorities believe the elevated road will be particularly beneficial to the people of Faridabad and Gurugram, as the elevated road will ensure a smoother and faster journey to the airport, thereby reducing the pressure on existing roads.
The infrastructure will also be considered an important support system for the development of industries in the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor. This will ensure the development of stronger supply chains and the efficient movement of goods, which will be beneficial for the development of industries in the region.
With the approval of the cabinet, the project will be initiated to the next stage, and the elevated road will be developed. The elevated road will play an important role in the development of the transportation network between Haryana and the new international airport.
