Haryana's First Airport Inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi

After 58 years of formation, Haryana has finally got its first civil airport. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar on April 14, launching the first flight to Ayodhya by pressing a remote button.

Key Information About Hisar Airport 

Flight Routes and Schedule 

Regular flights from Hisar Airport have commenced with service to Ayodhya and Delhi. The flight to Ayodhya departs at 10:35 AM and arrives at 12:35 PM after a 2-hour journey. The Hisar-Delhi flight takes off at 3:25 PM and reaches Delhi in approximately 40 minutes at 4:05 PM. Both routes currently operate twice a week, with plans to add flights to Jaipur, Jammu, and Ahmedabad in the future. 

Ticket Prices and Booking 

The minimum fare for Hisar to Ayodhya is Rs 3,200, while the return journey costs Rs 3,730. Tickets to Delhi start at approximately Rs 1,300. Ticket prices may vary based on demand, season, and time of travel. Bookings can be made through the official Alliance Air website (https://www.allianceair.in/) or travel websites like MakeMyTrip. 

Aircraft Details

Alliance Air Aviation will operate ATR aircraft that can accommodate 70 passengers per flight.

Airport Access and Check-in Process

Travelers should arrive about 2 hours before their flight. The airport is located on the Sirsa-Delhi National Highway No. 9, about 5 km (10 minutes) from Hisar Bus Stand and 6.5 km (15 minutes) from Hisar Railway Station. Public transportation and taxis are available to reach the airport. 

Baggage Allowance

Passengers can carry up to 15 kg of luggage without additional charges. Extra baggage fees apply on a graduated scale: Rs 1,350 for 3 kg, Rs 2,250 for 5 kg, Rs 4,500 for 10 kg, Rs 6,750 for 15 kg, Rs 9,000 for 20 kg, and Rs 13,500 for 30 kg over the limit. 

Development Status and Future Plans

Currently, Hisar Airport has completed two phases of development. The third phase, divided into three sub-phases, is expected to be completed by 2032 to meet international standards. The airport spans 7,200 acres, with an estimated total investment of Rs 4,500-5,000 crore. The third phase alone will cost approximately Rs 3,700 crore.

The state government has developed the airport with central government support but has now handed it over to the Airports Authority of India for further development and operations.

Economic Impact

The Airport will eventually transform Hisar into a metro city as sooner industrial corridor will establish sooner. Significant employment opportunities will be attracted after the establishment of the airport in various sectors like hospitality, transport, and IT followed up by employment opportunities. The Hisar metropolitan Development will be established to accelerate the city's development.
