The United States is lending a helping hand to improve India's aviation sector. The US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) has decided to give money to develop Hisar Airport in Haryana. This news was shared by USTDA director Enoh T Ebong at a big meeting called the US-India Aviation Summit in Washington DC.

US Support for Hisar Airport

The USTDA will give money to create an "integrated aviation hub" at Hisar Airport. This means the airport will become a central place for moving cargo and organizing transportation. The plan is to make the airport better at handling goods, which will help make India's supply network stronger.

The USTDA will work with the Haryana Airports Development Corporation (HADC) on this project. They will help HADC learn how to run the new aviation hub. The HADC will choose a US company to give expert advice on how to do this.

Growing India-US Aviation Partnership

This project is part of a bigger plan called the Aviation Cooperation Programme (ACP). The USTDA has already helped with about 40 projects under this plan. But Ebong says this is just the beginning. She mentioned that there are 10 more aviation projects in India where US companies can help.

The USTDA has been working with India for more than 30 years. They've helped with many things, like planning sustainable airports and making air traffic control better. They've also provided training for Indian aviation leaders.

Wider Impact on South Asian Aviation

This year's summit is special because it includes aviation leaders from other South Asian countries like Bhutan, the Maldives, and Nepal. This shows that the US-India partnership in aviation could have a positive effect on the whole region.

Ebong emphasized how important it is for the world's largest democracy (India) and the oldest democracy (USA) to work together in aviation. She said this cooperation is good for both countries and sets an example for the rest of the world.

The USTDA director also mentioned the role of Indian-Americans in strengthening ties between the two countries. She said that Indian people living in the US have created lasting connections in culture, education, and business.

This new project at Hisar Airport is an exciting step forward in the growing partnership between India and the US in aviation. It shows how working together can lead to better airports, smoother transportation of goods, and stronger connections between countries.
