The National Investigation Agency conducted major raids at 18 locations across three states on Thursday as part of an ongoing terror conspiracy investigation. The searches took place at nine sites in Punjab, seven in Haryana, and two in Uttar Pradesh.
The raids began early morning and continued throughout the day, with NIA teams getting support from local police forces in all three states. Officials said the operations were based on specific intelligence inputs about suspected terrorist activities.
This latest action is part of NIA's broader investigation into pro-Khalistani groups and other anti-national elements operating both within India and from abroad. The agency is looking into a larger conspiracy aimed at reviving terrorism in Punjab through targeted killings, extortion, and illegal weapons smuggling.
The investigation is in full speed as NIA filed charges against Jatinder Singh who is an important associate of Babbar Khalsa International terrorist Lakhbir Singh, also known as Landa.
During the investigation, NIA discovered that Jatinder was involved in illegally obtaining and supplying firearms from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab-based gangsters. He was helping supply weapons to ground operatives of notorious gangster Pavittar Batala, who works closely with designated terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa.
The agency found that foreign-based associates were coordinating these operations in India. The weapons were being used by Batala's operatives to carry out criminal and terrorist activities in Punjab, with the accused using encrypted apps and virtual numbers to avoid detection.
