People traveling between Haryana and Delhi have something to smile about. The Delhi government has decided to hand over a 13.2-kilometer stretch of Delhi-Rohtak Road (NH-10) to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). This road runs from Peeragarhi Chowk to Tikri Border and is used by thousands of vehicles every day. The transfer has support from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and aims to turn this stretch into a much better highway.
Road to Get Major Upgrade
Delhi's PWD Minister Pravesh Verma approved this plan and sent it to NHAI. He said this step is important for making traffic flow better on this busy route. "We want to make sure this road meets national highway standards," Verma said. "This will create better driving conditions for the thousands of people who travel between Delhi and Haryana daily." The road connects Tikri Border to Nangloi Metro Station and joins Ring Road, making it an important link for the region.
Fix for Flooding Problems
One big problem with this road has been flooding during rains. Water often collects on the road, damaging the surface and creating huge headaches for drivers. The rebuilding plan will include better drainage systems to solve this ongoing issue. Currently, the road's poor condition forces commuters to deal with rough rides, traffic jams, and longer travel times.
Benefits for Daily Travelers
When completed, the project will help not just regular commuters but also trucks carrying goods between Delhi and Haryana. Better roads mean less time spent traveling, fewer repairs for vehicles, and less fuel used. For people from Haryana who come to Delhi for work, school, hospitals, or business, this upgrade means easier and faster trips in the future. With NHAI taking over this road's development, commuters can look forward to a modern highway that's much easier to drive on.
