Rahul Gandhi, a key opposition leader in India, has shown strong support for farmers' demands after meeting with their representatives. The meeting, which took place in the Parliament House complex, focused on the farmers' call for a legal guarantee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their crops.

Farmers' Voices Heard

The delegation that met Gandhi included 12 farmer leaders from different parts of India - Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. This diverse group shared the challenges faced by farmers across the country. They explained why a legal guarantee for MSP is so important to them.

INDIA Bloc's Commitment

Gandhi, representing the INDIA bloc (a group of opposition parties), promised to take action. He said, "We will try and put pressure on the government to ensure that the farmers get a legal guarantee for MSP." Gandhi also mentioned that the INDIA bloc had already looked into this issue and found it feasible to implement.

The Congress leader later posted on social media, saying, "Legal guarantee for MSP is the right of farmers. INDIA will ensure that they get this right."

Broader Support for Farmers

Other Congress leaders, including KC Venugopal and former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi, were also present at the meeting. Venugopal highlighted the difficulties farmers have faced, including harsh treatment during protests. He said Gandhi represents hope for millions of farmers who feel ignored by the current government.

The meeting and Gandhi's promises show that farmers' issues, especially the demand for a legal MSP guarantee, are becoming a major political topic. The opposition seems ready to make this a key point in their discussions with the government, potentially leading to more debates and actions on farmers' rights in the near future.
