PM Modi to Visit Haryana on April 14, Will Inaugurate Two Major Projects

Will lay foundation stone for 800 MW thermal plant unit in Yamunanagar and launch air services from Hisar airport

Chief Minister Nayab Saini has announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Haryana on April 14, coinciding with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's birth anniversary. The announcement came during an unexpected press conference called by the CM amid the ongoing assembly session.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will participate in a state-level function commemorating Ambedkar Jayanti and launch two significant projects.

Two Major Projects to be Inaugurated

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for a new 800 MW unit at the Chaudhary Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Plant in Yamunanagar. This project will be developed at a cost of Rs 7,200 crore.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate air services from the Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar. CM Saini noted that the Hisar airport development is progressing in three phases. The first phase, including one terminal, has been completed. In the second phase, the airport will be capable of accommodating Airbus operations. 

The CM mentioned that during his Budget speech on March 17, he had announced the commencement of air services from Hisar to Ayodhya, Delhi, and Chandigarh.

Budget Implementation Progress 

Saini also provided updates on the implementation of budget promises. He stated that out of the 90 commitments made in the government's vision document for 2025-2026, 19 have already been fulfilled, with 14 more to be completed soon.

The Chief Minister highlighted several initiatives including: 

  • Establishing a Department of Future
  • Providing Rs 10 lakh to World Olympic winners 
  • Opening day care centers for cancer patients in 17 districts
  • Increasing MBBS seats from 2,185 to 2,485
  • Developing 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) 

Infrastructure Development Plans

Other announced developments include:

  • Sports complexes in every municipality
  • Transforming old markets into smart markets
  • Converting one street in each village into a smart street
  • Providing 24-hour electricity to remaining 1,376 villages
  • Free bus service for differently-abled people
  • Financial assistance to 21 categories of differently-abled people starting from April 

Saini emphasized that these developments align with PM Modi's vision of "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas" (Together with all, Development for all, Trust of all, Effort by all).
