PM Modi to Launch 'Bima Sakhi Yojana' - Empowering Women through Insurance Career

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate a groundbreaking initiative called "Bima Sakhi Yojana" on December 9 in Panipat, Haryana. This program aims to transform the lives of thousands of women by providing them with a unique opportunity to become insurance agents and earn a sustainable income.

A New Path to Financial Independence

Under this innovative scheme, approximately 35,000 women will be trained as Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) agents. The program offers a comprehensive support system that includes professional training, guaranteed monthly income, and additional incentives for selling insurance policies.

Breaking Financial Barriers 

The financial structure of the Bima Sakhi Yojana is particularly attractive. Women will receive:

  • First Year: 7,000 rupees per month
  • Second Year: 6,000 rupees per month 
  • Third Year: 5,000 rupees per month
  • Additional monthly incentive of 2,100 rupees
  • Extra commission on insurance policy sales

Strategic Launch and Community Engagement

The launch event, titled 'Chalo Bahanon Modi Ji Se Milne' (Come Sisters, Meet Prime Minister), will host over 50,000 women in Panipat's Sector 13-17. The event symbolizes the government's commitment to women's empowerment, building on the successful 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign initiated in 2015.
