Haryana Railways Got ₹3,416 Crore for Infrastructure Development

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announces 11-fold increase in funding compared to 2009-2014 period; 34 stations to be transformed into Amrit Bharat stations with modern amenities.

Union budget 2025- 26 has allocated announced substantial funding for transformation of Haryana Railway infrastructure. The developments have been shared by Railway minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw while highlighting how the allocation will revolutionise the state 's rail network.

Since 2014, Haryana has seen the construction of 823 km of railway tracks which is almost equal in size to the entire Railway system of United Arab Emirates. The expansion of Railways represent a significant hike in state's transportation infrastructure.

Modern Railway Stations 

The amount of ₹1,149 crore has been allocated for upgrading 34 railway stations across Haryana under the Amrit Bharat station scheme. The project includes stations such as Ambala Cantonment, Faridabad, Kurukshetra Junction and Panipat Junction. The point to note down is that Faridabad station will receive ₹262 crore for its development, while work is also progressing on modernising the Gurugram railway station.

Haryana currently has 14 new railway track projects under construction with a total investment of ₹15,875 crore for laying 1,195 km of new tracks. These projects include significant routes Chandigarh-Baddi, Palwal-New Prithla, and the Delhi-Sohna-Nuh-Firozpur Jhirka-Alwar corridor, which will enhance regional connectivity.

Technological advancements

The state has received five Vande- Bharat Express trains and 144 Railway Stations now offer Wi-Fi facilities, which states that the modernisation drive extend beyond physical infrastructure. Similarly, ₹398 crore has been allocated for the Kaavach project focusing on Railway modernisation and safety system. Since 2014, the electrification of 121 tracks and construction of 534 Railway flyover and under bridges have been completed.
