Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate Ayodhya's new railway station and launch 2 Amrit Bharat and 6 Vande Bharat trains today. Among them, 2 Vande Bharat trains are destined for Haryana-Punjab. The inaugural day will witness a grand welcome for both trains at Ambala Cantt station. The second Vande Bharat train, originating from Amritsar Junction, commenced its journey from Katra at 11:15 am.
En route through Jalandhar, Ludhiana, it is scheduled to reach Ambala Cantt at 2:40 pm. Simultaneously, the train originating from Katra to New Delhi will arrive at Ambala Cantt station at 5:20 pm. The program, organized through VC in Ambala, will be attended by Ambala Division DRM Mandeep Bhatia, Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij, Rajya Sabha MP Kartikey Sharma, and other officials.
Both trains will have a brief 2-minute stop at Ambala Cantt Railway Station. The first Vande Bharat train will operate from Maa Vaishno Devi Katra station (Jammu and Kashmir) to New Delhi via Haryana-Punjab. The second Vande Bharat train will connect Amritsar and Old Delhi Railway Station. With 8 coaches (530 seats) for the Amritsar to Old Delhi route and 16 coaches (1138 seats) for the Katra-New Delhi route, these trains are expected to commence operations in the first week of January.
