Lok Sabha Elections 2024 : It was just the “Youtubers' bubble” in front of the Modi juggernaut ?

YouTuber influencers and the opposition in sync. But, who's to remind them elections are fought on ground and not social media.

The exit polls for the 2024 Lok sabha elections concluded on Saturday are out and most of the exit polls whether it India Today Axis, ABP-C voter, News 24, NDTV Polls of Poll, or Jan Ki Baat predicted a straight third landslide victory for PM Narendra Modi and BJP. The Modi juggernaut seems unstoppable even after all the major opposition parties contested the Lok Sabha election under the “INDI” umbrella. The average, if we look at polls comes out at 350-370 for the NDA which makes for a thundering victory for the incumbent PM.

PM Modi is on the verge of making history by winning a straight third win and he will join a different league of leaders like Margret Thatcher, and JL Nehru if he wins on the 4th of July. The Congress party is finishing in the double digits if we go by the polls. But the real question that arises here, is whether all the opposition and criticism for the Modi government on social media and on the ground was just about the “Youtubers Bubble” or was there even something else in it. If the polls turn out to be true, the answer to the question will be definitely yes and it will be clear that the opposition and criticism mounted on the saffron party was just by a few YouTubers with vested interests.

In the entire election season, Dhruv Rathee was one name in the news for the heavy criticism of PM Modi.  Dhruv Rather originally hails from Haryana and currently resides in Germany. He garnered millions of views on YouTube with thumbnails like “The Dictator”, “Dara Hua Dictator”, and “End Game of a Dictator” criticizing PM Modi. Shockingly, Dhruv Rathee sees no good in PM Modi and BJP. During the entire 2024 election season, Dhruv released videos only criticizing PM Modi which generally the opposition does.

There are many like Dhruv who earned pretty well through the criticism of PM Modi and BJP. Abhisar Sharma, Ravish Kumar, Arfa Khanum, The News Laundry, and many others virtually played the role of opposition in the election. Surprisingly, all “opposition” cum “YouTubers” have few common threads and they operate likewise. They claim that the entire mainstream and print media is favoring Narendra Modi. The mainstream media channels are paid for by “BJP’ and these channels are only allowed to run the BJP “agenda”.

All these YouTubers claim that the entire state apparatus of India, whether its Judiciary, Election Commission, CBI, ED, or Universities, is under serious threat because of the BJP. These YouTubers also claim that the Indian constitution is under serious threat and if Modi comes to power again, he will abolish the constitution. Some of them also claim that Modi will finish the reservation of OBC, SC, and ST.

Now, if we look closely, the entire INDI alliance opposed the Modi government using the same themes. Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Tejaswi Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, and many other opposition leaders repeatedly during their rallies claimed that Modi would end the reservation system if he wins the 2024 election if Modi comes again he will abolish the constitution, India will become a dictatorship under Modi and what not!

Even after such strong charges by both the opposition and YouTubers, most of the exit polls are showing a thunderous victory for Narendra Modi and BJP. In such a scenario only two cases are probably possible, one, that the Youtubers with the opposition have an extra futuristic and extraordinary vision that the common people who are voting for Narendra Modi don’t have and the collective wisdom of these YouTubers along with the opposition surpasses the collective wisdom of people who are giving more than 350 seats to Modi again in his third run. The second possible case is, that these entire charges and the loud hullabaloo were just because of this “Youtubers Bubble” which garnered some views in the election season but got burst in front of the Modi juggernaut.

Now, it depends entirely upon the discretion of the reader which one he/she chooses. Along with that, the readers can also listen to some good Punjabi songs till the 4th like Rahul Gandhi who is very fond of the “295” song of Sidhu Moosewala as one media person earlier in the day asked how many seats the INDI alliance is winning and Rahul defying all the polls answered “295”!
