Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Haryana's former CM, will contest his last election in October, aiming to lead Congress to victory and secure a government term before retiring from politics.

A controversy erupted in Parliament when Speaker Om Birla objected to Shashi Tharoor's "Jai Samvidhan" remark during oath-taking. This led to a clash with Deepender Hooda and criticism from Priyanka Gandhi, highlighting tensions over constitutional expressions in the Lok Sabha.

In 2019, when Congress, once again failed to form government in the state, leaders like Randeep Singh Surjewala, Kiran Chaudhary, and Kumari Selja took charge and attacked Hooda for his ambitions of making his son Deependra Hooda Chief Minister of Haryana.  In the next 5 years, the quarrel over the CM post kept recurring, and those who considered themselves old loyalists of Congress and close to the Gandhi family staked a claim over the Chief minister’s post in Haryana.

But what goes against Shelja is that she is not a popular face outside the Hisar-Sirsa region while Hooda is known for his smart politics all over the state. While Randeep Singh Surjewala is still not a big name if we talk from the perspective of state politics, he is not anywhere near Hooda in terms of power and support in the state congress.

As it is famously said about Haryana, people here claim to own politicians with pride, and if they rally behind someone wholeheartedly, no one can stop that politician from reaching new milestones! The opposite is also true that if someone shows them an attitude of power, the Haryanvi people don’t think twice before showing that person his/her real place.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha election results in Haryana, the Congress party has prepared an internal report estimating it will win 8 seats and lose 2 seats.

As political parties in Haryana review the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP's internal report has raised concerns over potential shrinking of its victory margins in some key constituencies. While the party remains optimistic about its overall win, the report points to challenges in Rohtak and Sirsa, and tough battles in four other seats.

A pivotal meeting took place on Tuesday among five organisations comprising the United Kisan Morcha at Gurdwara Dera Kar Seva in Karnal. The consensus among these organisations was to escalate their protest to the 4th Commissioner level if the government failed to address their demands. During the voting period from 8:30 am to 5 pm for Panipat Bar association elections, 2337 lawyers are expected to cast their votes, including 440 women lawyers who will be voting for the first time at the newly introduced pink booth. ARO Advocate Karan Pal claims that this initiative of a pink booth is a first of its kind in the country.
