The race for the Rohtak parliamentary constituency is seeing a close fight between the Congress and the BJP. According to the latest figures, Deepender Singh Hooda, son of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, is leading by 187,486 votes over BJP's Arvind Kumar Sharma.

The Rohtak seat includes nine assembly areas - Meham, Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, Rohtak, Kalanaur, Bahadurgarh, Badli, Jhajjar, Beri, and Kosli. Voting here took place on May 25 during the 6th phase, with a 65.68% voter turnout.

Hooda's strong performance has given a boost to the I.N.D.I.A alliance which is currently ahead in 7 seats across Haryana, while the BJP-led NDA is trailing at 3 seats. In 2019, BJP's Sharma had won this seat by a big margin over Hooda. But in 2014, it was Hooda who had defeated BJP's candidate.

As counting continues, political experts are watching the Rohtak battle closely. The final result here could impact the overall poll outcome in Haryana and India. The high-stakes Rohtak contest is heating up, with the Congress trying to regain this seat from BJP. Suspense remains on who will finally win.
