Haryana: In the lead-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the political battle in Haryana has intensified, with the BJP and Congress candidates engaging in a war of words over key issues of government jobs and local development.

BJP's Dr. Arvind Sharma has been making government jobs a central part of his campaign narrative, accusing the previous Congress regime led by Bhupinder Hooda of promoting a "parchi-kharchi" (recommendation and corruption) system in providing employment to the youth. Sharma claims that the BJP government has not only ended this practice but also ensured merit-based recruitment, providing deserving candidates with jobs.

"Those who are raising questions on the BJP functioning, have been promoting the parchi-kharchi system during their regime to provide jobs to the educated youth," said Sharma, while targeting Hooda and his son, Deepender Hooda, the likely Congress candidate.

In response, Deepender Hooda has launched a scathing attack on Sharma, alleging that the BJP government has failed to fulfill its promise of providing government jobs, pushing the educated youth towards frustration. Hooda also highlighted the cases of paper leaks in government job exams, which he claimed exposed the poor functioning of the current administration.

"Today, Haryana has reached number one in terms of unemployment as the BJP government has failed to fill vacant posts even after ruling the state for the past nearly 10 years," said Hooda, adding that the Congress, if elected, will ensure transparent and time-bound recruitment for over 2 lakh vacant government positions.

The battle has also extended to the issue of local development, with Deepender Hooda accusing Sharma of failing to bring any major projects to the Rohtak constituency in the past five years. In contrast, Hooda claimed that during the previous Congress regime, the foundation stones for 10 national-level institutes on the AIIMS-2 campus in Badhsa village were laid, but these projects have not yet been executed even after a decade.

As the political rivals trade rises, the people of Haryana eagerly await to see which party's vision and promises will resonate with the voters in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
