Sports Empowerment Journey Launched by NGO in Haryana

An NGO, the Sports Revolution Foundation, initiated a sports empowerment journey from Rohtak, aiming to cover the entire Haryana in 22 days. The expedition involves inspecting the actual state of sports facilities, stadiums, and sports nurseries in each district, compiling reports on deficiencies. Additionally, the foundation seeks to create an organization to voice athletes' concerns nationwide.

The culmination of the journey is set for February 6th in Rohtak, where the accumulated findings will be presented to Chief Minister Manohar Lal to address the identified shortcomings. Major General Navin Jaihind inaugurated the event, emphasizing the goal of promoting sports in Haryana justly.

Foundation's head, Pravesh Nandal, highlighted the mission's focus on promoting sports in Haryana in an equitable manner. Identified issues in sports infrastructure will be conveyed to the government for rectification. The foundation also aims to establish a robust sports organization to represent athletes' interests. Post-Haryana, a similar journey will be organized across India, engaging with children and assessing the implementation of government sports initiatives.

Nandal mentioned that the foundation, operational since 2016, has been organizing children's sports tournaments to encourage budding athletes. The government should provide facilities promised to players, and the foundation seeks to create a platform for athletes' voices. Major General Navin Jaihind emphasized that Haryana is a sports-centric state where numerous youths actively engage in morning practice sessions. The government must provide facilities to support young talents. He expressed support for the journey, emphasizing the need for the government to listen to athletes' concerns and address issues related to sports rules and playing fields.

This initiative reflects the foundation's commitment to fostering sports and ensuring that promises made by the government are delivered, ultimately uplifting the status of athletes in Haryana.
