Rajya Sabha member Deepender Singh Hooda, in a meeting with Congress workers in Rohtak, not only reflected on the 2019 election loss but also directed criticism towards the BJP. Undeterred by the electoral setback, Hooda expressed that his defeat had not affected him personally, yet acknowledged the collective impact on the public and the region.
Had Hooda won the previous election, the razor-thin margin of approximately 3900 votes between BJP and Congress in the legislative assembly polls might not have been a concern. The dynamics have shifted since then, and Hooda emphasised that both Haryana and Rohtak Lok Sabha constituencies have witnessed a lack of development in the past decade, with the current MP failing to deliver on promises.
In his strategy session with party workers, Hooda outlined plans for a door-to-door campaign, aiming to reach every household in Rohtak. He declared an initiative, "Har Ghar Congress" focusing on enhancing the voter turnout that each booth garnered in the previous election. Those booth committees achieving a significant increase in votes would be duly recognized.
Deepender Hooda committed to working on developmental issues and claimed that Haryana had been at the forefront of national development. He reassured the public that the Congress machinery would address their concerns, even as he acknowledged the formidable challenge posed by BJP's political machinery.
Hooda addressed the critical Lok Sabha seats of Rohtak and Sonipat, acknowledging the tough competition for the BJP. He contended that BJP's rhetoric targeting him was expected and emphasized that the people of Haryana are inclined towards change. Hooda also touched upon the Ram Mandir invitation, stating that his visit wouldn't be contingent on an official invite, as devotion to Lord Ram is personal and transcends political affiliations.
In summary, Deepender Singh Hooda's strategic meeting in Rohtak outlines a comprehensive plan to counter the BJP's influence and refocus the political narrative towards development, promising a more robust and engaged Congress campaign in the region.
