Defying the exit poll predictions that favoured the BJP-led NDA in the Lok Sabha elections, former Haryana Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has expressed his unwavering belief in the people's mandate. Hooda firmly stated that the public sentiment is against the current BJP government, and the INDI Alliance will perform remarkably well in the elections.
Hooda emphasised the unique nature of this Lok Sabha election, where citizens themselves have contested the polls to oust the BJP and its allies from power due to their anti-people policies. He showed confidence in the INDI Alliance's remarkable performance, dismissing the authenticity of exit polls.
Addressing the situation in Haryana, the former CM asserted that the Congress party would sweep the state, driven by a strong wind of change blowing across the nation. Hooda accused the BJP government of deliberately keeping the youth of Haryana away from employment opportunities through erroneous policies. He cited the recent High Court ruling on the Common Entrance Test (CET) as evidence of the BJP's involvement in recruitment scams and neglect of the state's educated youth.
When questioned about the Congress's organisational structure in the state, Hooda pointed out that the people themselves have become the party's organisation, contesting the Lok Sabha polls so effectively that even the BJP's top leaders, including former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, are locked in tough battles. He attributed this to the unconditional support of the people for the Congress.
Responding to Khattar's warning to government employees on poll duty, Hooda commended the officials for discharging their duties with sincerity and honesty, as evidenced by the smooth and peaceful conduct of elections across the state, without any complaints of rigging.
At a press conference in Jind, when asked about potential sabotage attempts within the party, Hooda dismissed the notion of factionalism within the Congress. Despite the party's lack of organisational structure in Haryana, he claimed that people came together and worked for the Congress. Hooda affirmed the party's commitment to strengthening its organization in the state.
