The 75th Republic Day was celebrated at the District Congress Office in Rohtak, featuring the hoisting of the tricolour by former Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda. During the event, Hooda made light of Chief Minister Manohar Lal's promise of creating 30 lakh jobs, highlighting the stark unemployment reality in the state. Hooda emphasised that there has been a significant rise in unemployment, with the current rate exceeding 9%, compared to 2.4% in 2014.
Addressing the gathering, Hooda extended greetings for the 75th Republic Day and underscored the importance of safeguarding the constitution. He urged everyone to stand united to protect the constitution and expressed concern over the state's unemployment crisis.
In response to Chief Minister Manohar Lal's commitment to creating 30 lakh jobs, Hooda questioned the transparency of the process, stating that there is a lack of information regarding when and where the job advertisements were released. He highlighted the scarcity of government jobs in the state and criticised the rising unemployment rate.
Furthermore, Hooda criticised the state government for its handling of the law and order situation, particularly in denying security to Rahul Gandhi during his justice yatra in Assam. He asserted that everyone has the right to preach and speak about the constitution, condemning the government's interference in such matters.
The event was attended by Congress workers, along with Congress MLA BB Batra and former MLA Anand Singh Dangi from Rohtak. The political tone of the Republic Day celebration highlighted the challenges and concerns within the state's political landscape.
