BJP's Internal Report Raises Concerns Over Shrinking Victory Margins in Haryana Lok Sabha Polls

As political parties in Haryana review the outcome of the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP's internal report has raised concerns over potential shrinking of its victory margins in some key constituencies. While the party remains optimistic about its overall win, the report points to challenges in Rohtak and Sirsa, and tough battles in four other seats.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held a review meeting in Panchkula on May 27, where an internal report on the Lok Sabha election performance was presented. According to sources, the report painted a grim picture for the party's prospects in the Rohtak and Sirsa constituencies.

Rohtak Faces Tough Challenge from Deepender Hooda

In Rohtak, the Congress fielded Deepender Hooda, son of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, as its candidate. The BJP had won the seat in 2019 with a slim margin of just 7,500 votes. Overcoming this narrow lead poses a significant challenge, compounded by opposition from Jat and farmer communities.

Sirsa Witness Multi-Cornered Contest

The situation appears equally precarious for the BJP in Sirsa, where former Congress MP Kumari Selja is a formidable opponent. The BJP candidate, Ashok Tanwar, defected from the Congress, inviting backlash from voters. Additionally, the farmers' protest has made the going tough for Tanwar.

Four More Seats in Close Contests

The report also highlighted tight contests in Sonipat, Ambala, Kurukshetra, and Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, where caste and regional dynamics have complicated the electoral arithmetic for the BJP.

BJP Confident in Remaining Seats

However, the party remains optimistic about its prospects in Karnal, Gurugram, Hisar, and Faridabad. Particularly in Karnal, the influence of former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is expected to benefit the BJP.

While the BJP expresses confidence in its overall victory, the internal report has raised concerns over potential shrinking of its winning margins in some constituencies. The party may have to brace for tighter contests than anticipated, making the final results even more exciting to watch.
