Former Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana, Dushyant Chautala, encountered the anger of farmers during his visit to Nara and Gamra villages in Hisar district. The farmers, disillusioned by his stance during the recent farmers' agitation, stopped his procession and compelled him to walk to the village venue.
Activists expressed their discontent, stating they had previously supported Chautala but felt betrayed by his actions during the farm protests. The farmers, carrying black flags representing the Samyukta Kisan Morcha, refused entry to Chautala in Garma village, citing their disappointment with his stance.
Chautala attempted to engage in dialogue, but the farmers remained steadfast, demanding accountability for his perceived betrayal. Allegations of politicisation were raised against Chautala, prompting a standoff as the farmers sat in protest, blocking his convoy.
Deepak, an activist, voiced frustrations, emphasising that their support for Chautala had reached its limit due to his handling of the farmers' agitation. The incident underscores the growing discontent among farmers towards political leaders and their policies, particularly concerning agricultural issues.
Chautala's forced walk and confrontation with farmers highlight the widening gap between politicians and grassroots movements, signalling potential challenges for leaders aligning with controversial policies.
