Haryana's newly appointed Transport Minister, Aseem Goel, made a notable move by opting for a roadways bus journey from Ambala to Chandigarh for his first Cabinet meeting since taking office. With a mission to gauge the state of public transport firsthand, Minister Goel embarked on this journey to better understand the challenges faced by passengers and bus staff.
During the bus ride, Minister Goel ensured that all accompanying staff members had their tickets issued, setting an example of adherence to the system. Engaging with passengers, he sought feedback on their travel experiences and listened attentively to their suggestions for improvement. Additionally, Minister Goel interacted with the bus driver and conductor, discussing operational matters and noting areas for improvement.
Addressing media representatives during the journey, Minister Goel expressed his commitment to serving the public and promised to prioritise initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of public transport services. He emphasised the importance of experiencing the ground realities of transportation firsthand to implement effective solutions that cater to the needs of passengers.
Furthermore, Minister Goel identified certain discrepancies, such as the absence of seat belts despite signage mandating their use. Taking swift action, he directed the bus staff to either facilitate the usage of seat belts or remove the signage to avoid confusion among passengers.
In his remarks to passengers, Minister Goel assured them of his dedication to improving their travel experience and urged them to continue providing feedback for ongoing improvements in the state's transport services. With initiatives like these, Minister Aseem Goel aims to usher in a new era of efficient and passenger-friendly public transportation in Haryana.
