Recruitment Advertisement for 10,000 Labourers

The Haryana government has issued an advertisement for the recruitment of 10,000 labourers in the construction sector through the Skill Employment Corporation. The initiative aims to address the labour shortage faced by Israeli construction companies due to the ongoing conflict with Hamas.

Clarification by CM Manohar Lal: No Forced Migration to Israel

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal has clarified that the state government is not compelling individuals to go to Israel. He emphasised that the decision to participate in the recruitment drive for construction workers in Israel is entirely voluntary.

Background: Labour Shortage in Israel's Construction Sector

Israel's construction sector, impacted by the conflict with Hamas, sought permission from India to hire workers in place of the 90,000 Palestinians who previously worked there. India's Skill Employment Corporation responded by facilitating a legal channel for interested individuals.

CM's Response to Opposition Concerns

Congress Rajya Sabha MP Deependra Hooda raised concerns about sending people from Haryana to war-torn areas. In response, Chief Minister Manohar Lal stated that individuals have been going to Israel from various countries, and the government is providing a legal channel for interested workers.
