In a dramatic pre-dawn operation, Haryana authorities demolished the tent of Jaihind Sena chief Naveen Jaihind in Rohtak's Sector 6 around 4 AM today. The operation, conducted with approximately 400 police personnel, targeted what officials described as an illegal structure where Jaihind had been residing for the past year.
"Why come at night like thieves? I'm neither a goon nor a gangster," said Jaihind, who was absent during the demolition. "This tent was a center for raising the voices of lakhs of people. They could have come during daylight – I don't have an army or weapons."
The administration claims they served Jaihind a notice four months ago regarding the illegal occupation. However, Jaihind denies receiving any such notice. This isn't the first time Jaihind has faced such action – approximately a year ago, authorities had similarly cleared a garden area where he was staying, leading him to set up the now-demolished tent.
Jaihind, formerly the Haryana state president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is currently unaffiliated with any political party. He has gained prominence through unique protest methods, including organizing mock funeral processions for unemployment and pension issues. His "Fufa Ji ki Baraat" protest, highlighting pension distribution problems for living senior citizens, particularly gained widespread attention.
"Neither the government nor the opposition stands with me today. None of the 90 MLAs or MPs of Haryana will speak up," Jaihind stated, vowing to continue raising public issues despite the setback.
