With the election code of conduct looming, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini embarked on a whirlwind tour of Pataudi Assembly constituency in Gurugram district. On Saturday, he laid the foundation stones for 87 projects valued at Rs 184 crore and inaugurated 31 other development projects. The Chief Minister also announced an additional Rs 10 crore for various development works in the constituency.

Promises and Announcements Galore

Saini's visit was marked by a series of ambitious announcements. He promised a new veterinary polyclinic and animal trauma centre in Tajpurnagar village, despite the lack of allocated land. A polytechnic college at Majri village, costing Rs 3.5 crore, was also announced. The Chief Minister didn't stop there - he declared plans for multiple 33 KV powerhouses, a new Municipal Corporation building in Manesar, and improvements to several roads.

In a move that raised eyebrows, Saini quickly agreed to fulfill all demands presented in a letter by local MLA Satyaprakash Jarawata. This rapid-fire approach to project announcements and approvals highlighted the urgency felt by the government as potential elections draw near.

Highlighting Achievements and Criticizing Opposition

During a public rally, Saini took the opportunity to showcase his government's accomplishments. He cited significant expenditures on road construction, bridge development, and water supply improvements over the past decade. The Chief Minister claimed that his administration was focused on solving people's problems and making their lives easier. Saini didn't miss the chance to criticize the opposition Congress party. He accused the previous government of basing its politics on casteism, regionalism, and nepotism. In a pointed remark, he stated, "Those who are demanding accounts of work from us today should see that their government used to work in commission mode, while our double engine government is working in mission mode."

The Chief Minister also highlighted recent populist measures, including subsidized gas cylinders for consumers, bonuses for farmers in rain-deficit areas, and promises to purchase all crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP).

As the political temperature rises in Haryana, Saini's flurry of announcements and inaugurations reflects the BJP government's strategy to showcase development and win voter support before the expected announcement of elections.
