Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini made a significant visit to Sonipat district, combining cultural homage, development initiatives, and environmental conservation efforts. The visit showcased the government's multi-pronged approach to state development and political outreach.

Honoring Heritage and Boosting Development

In Bhaira Bankipur village, Sonipat, CM Saini unveiled a statue of the legendary Rajput ruler, Maharana Pratap. This ceremony was coupled with the launch of various development projects totaling Rs 112 crore. Saini emphasized that such statues inspire new generations with values of bravery, patriotism, and courage.

The Chief Minister highlighted his government's efforts in honoring national heroes, mentioning that 509 schools across the state have been named after martyrs. He also pointed out the establishment of the Maharana Pratap Horticulture University in Anjanthali, Karnal.

Green Initiatives and Public Welfare

Saini participated in a tree planting drive under the 'Tree in Mother's Name' campaign, underlining the government's commitment to environmental conservation. This initiative follows the launch of the 'Van Mitra' (Forest Friend) scheme in Ambala, where volunteers are paid to plant and protect trees.

Under the Van Mitra scheme, volunteers will receive Rs 20 per tree for planting and protecting it. The 'Tree in Mother's Name' program will pay Van Mitras Rs 10 per tree to protect trees planted by the public.

The Chief Minister also highlighted welfare measures, including the provision of 1.5 lakh government jobs without fees or recommendations. He mentioned the increase in old-age pensions from Rs 500 to Rs 3000, benefiting 20 lakh people in the state.

Political Messaging and Criticism of Opposition

Saini used the platform to criticize opposition leaders, particularly former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son Deepender Hooda. He challenged them to account for their own tenure before questioning the current government's performance. The Chief Minister also criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing the Congress of hypocrisy in their stance on protecting the constitution, referring to the party's role during the Emergency period.

Saini asserted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the country is progressing according to the constitution, with both the nation and state on the path of development. He accused the opposition of misleading people with false claims, unable to accept the government's achievements.

The Chief Minister's visit to Sonipat, combining cultural, developmental, and environmental initiatives, appears to be part of a broader strategy to connect with voters and showcase the government's work. By balancing development projects with environmental conservation and political messaging, Saini seems to be setting the tone for his administration's approach to governance and public outreach as the state moves closer to future elections.
