 Hisar's Sky-High Ambitions

In a significant development for Haryana's aviation sector, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has revealed plans to launch domestic flights from Hisar's Maharaja Agrasen airport starting August. The announcement came during a programme organized by the Civil Aviation Department in Panchkula, marking a new chapter in the state's transportation history.

The Chief Minister emphasized that this initiative would not only boost the state's economy but also make air travel more accessible to Haryana's residents. With the necessary licences already obtained from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the stage is set for Hisar to spread its wings.

Alliance in the Air

A crucial step towards realizing this vision was taken with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Aviation Department and Alliance Air Aviation Limited. The agreement, inked by Additional Director of Civil Aviation Department Satish Kumar Singla and Network Planning Head of Alliance Air Ranjan Kumar Dutta, paves the way for Alliance Air to operate flights from Hisar.

CM Saini revealed that the planned routes would connect Hisar with several important destinations across India, including the spiritual city of Ayodhya, the vibrant Ahmedabad, the state capital Chandigarh, the pink city Jaipur, and the northernmost Jammu. This diverse network is expected to cater to various travel needs, from pilgrimage and tourism to business and connectivity.

Hub of Possibilities

The Chief Minister views the MoU with Alliance Air as more than just a contractual agreement. For him, it represents the opening of avenues to pursue broader goals - specifically, the vision of transforming Hisar into an integrated aviation hub. He assured that any pending formalities at the airport would be promptly addressed to ensure a smooth takeoff.

Civil Aviation Minister Dr Kamal Gupta, who was present alongside CM Saini, shared the enthusiasm for this landmark development. The collective optimism reflects the government's commitment to elevating Haryana's infrastructure and economic landscape.

A Word on Water

While the focus of the day was on aviation, CM Saini also took the opportunity to address another pressing issue - the supply of Yamuna water to Delhi. Amidst the capital's ongoing water crisis, he pointed out that the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi Government has struggled to provide clean water to its residents, despite campaigning on promises to clean the Yamuna.

Saini asserted that Haryana is fulfilling its obligation by supplying the necessary quantity of water to Delhi. However, he criticized the AAP government for failing to install a proper distribution system, stating that the situation regarding clean water availability in 2024 remains unchanged from 2014.

As Haryana prepares for takeoff from Hisar, the state government's ambitious plans for both air and water resources underscore its determination to soar to new heights of development and efficiency.
