Protest March and Memorandum Submission

The Bharatiya Kisan Ekta (BKE) held a protest march in Sirsa town on Saturday to express solidarity with CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur, who was allegedly involved in a scuffle with actor Kangana Ranaut at the Chandigarh airport. The march began at Nehru Park and passed through various prominent locations in the town. After the march, the farmers' union submitted a memorandum to Tehsildar Bhuvnesh Kumar, addressed to the President, demanding an impartial investigation into the incident.

Allegations Against Kangana and BJP Leaders

In the memorandum, the farmers' union condemned Kangana Ranaut for linking the airport incident with terrorism and extremism, stating that it was a personal dispute that required a fair investigation. Additionally, the BKE alleged that it had become a habit for BJP leaders to make objectionable remarks against farmers and their families. The police have registered a case against Devendra Kamboj, a district-level BJP Youth Wing leader, for making controversial remarks against Kulwinder Kaur on Facebook.

Backing the 'Brave Farmer's Daughter'

The union claimed that CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur had been performing her duty honestly for the past 16 years and had been posted at the Chandigarh airport for two-and-a-half years without any complaints against her. BKE state president Lakhwinder Singh Aulakh alleged that the administration was portraying Kulwinder Kaur in a negative light by hiding the truth about the incident.

Aulakh stated that farmers and laborers fought for their rights, and it was natural for them to be angry if insulting language was used against their mothers and sisters. He added that farmers across the country were with the "brave farmer's daughter, Kulwinder Kaur, the heir of Mata Bhaker. No injustice would be allowed against her."

The BKE's protest march and memorandum submission come in the wake of the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged altercation between Kangana Ranaut and CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur at the Chandigarh airport. The farmers' union has demanded an impartial investigation into the incident and condemned the remarks made by Kangana and certain BJP leaders.

The incident has also reignited the tensions between the farming community and the BJP, which had faced opposition from farmers during the recent Sirsa Lok Sabha elections. The BKE had run a campaign against the BJP candidate during the elections, highlighting the alleged atrocities committed by the BJP government against farmers during the farmers' movement.

As the controversy continues to unfold, the support extended by the farmers' union to Kulwinder Kaur underscores the ongoing rift between the farming community and certain political parties, as well as the demand for a fair and transparent investigation into the airport incident.
