In a strong stance against the recent court ruling, the Haryana government has decided to challenge the Punjab and Haryana High Court's verdict that canceled the state's decision to provide five extra marks to economically weaker sections in government job recruitments.

Addressing the media in Rohtak, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini firmly stated, "The Haryana Government will not allow injustice with the poor and the youth." He pointed out that while a Single Bench of the High Court had initially appreciated the government's move, a Double Bench later overturned the decision.

The five-mark quota, aimed at uplifting the underprivileged sections of society, was introduced by the Haryana government to level the playing field in employment opportunities. However, the High Court's verdict has put this pro-poor initiative on hold, prompting the state administration to escalate the matter to the Supreme Court.

During the press conference, Saini also touched upon other pressing issues plaguing the state. Regarding allegations of bogus voting during the recent Lok Sabha elections, the Chief Minister assured swift action against any officers found guilty of facilitating such malpractices.

On the contentious issue of water supply to Delhi, Saini dismissed the claims made by the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government. He stated that Haryana has been providing water to the national capital as per the agreed terms and urged the Delhi Chief Minister to focus on solving people's problems instead of indulging in corruption allegations.

Addressing concerns about the stability of his government, which holds a slim majority in the Assembly, Saini asserted that his administration had proven its majority on March 12. He dismissed the Congress party's claims of the government being in a minority as mere misinformation, adding that the state Assembly elections would be held on time.

The Chief Minister also directed state officers to improve their behavior and prioritize addressing the grievances of the public. He warned of strict action against those found negligent in their duties, emphasizing the government's commitment to efficient governance.

Highlighting the progress made under the BJP's "double-engine" government, Saini claimed that development had been evenly distributed across all districts, unlike the alleged discrimination during the previous Congress regime.

BJP MLA Mohan Lal Badauli, party spokesperson Shamsher Kharak, and former media coordinator Rajkumar Kapoor were present at the press conference, lending their support to the Chief Minister's statements.

As the political battle intensifies, the Haryana government remains firm in its determination to protect the interests of the underprivileged sections of society. The upcoming case in the Supreme Court is very important, as it will impact job opportunities and the economic situation for poorer people in Haryana.
