Addressing an event in Panchkula on Wednesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi vowed to ensure the participation of 90% of India's population, including Dalits, OBCs, tribal communities, and minorities, in the country's progress. He accused the BJP of excluding these groups from the nation's narrative and power structure.
"If you see India's population, conduct a survey, then you will know nearly 90 per cent population is Dalit, tribals, OBC, minority. This is a fact and it cannot be contested," Gandhi stated, holding a copy of the Constitution.
He emphasized that the Constitution mandates equal treatment for all, yet the voices of the 90% population are absent from the corporate, media, and bureaucratic structures. "Such a thing is going on as if these 90 per cent people do not exist," he said, calling for their participation. Gandhi also raised the issue of the arrest of two chief ministers, including Hemant Soren, alleging that the national media remained silent on the matter.
Batting for a caste census, he said it would reveal the exact numbers of OBCs, tribals, Dalits, and minorities, enabling their fair representation.
Taking a swipe at the BJP, Gandhi declared, "The saffron party's 'end' is coming." He accused the BJP and RSS of aligning the system against lower castes at every level and claimed they would ultimately lose the battle despite their perceived victory.
