Home-Based Voting for the Elderly and Divyang

Aggarwal said the Election Commission has allowed voters aged 85 and above, as well as Divyang (differently-abled) voters, to cast their ballots from home using a ballot paper. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will identify the eligible voters in their areas who want to vote from home. The Election Commission has directed that these voters, who have applied for home voting, must be facilitated accordingly.

Engaging Youth Voters

Aggarwal urged the BLOs to actively raise awareness about voting rights among young voters. Those who turned 18 by April 1 can register as voters by April 26 and vote in the Lok Sabha elections on May 25.

Facilitating Vote Transfers

Aggarwal also mentioned that the Election Commission is accepting applications for vote transfers. Voters can transfer their votes to a different location through the Commission's website, mobile app, or by submitting a form at the election office.

Empowering the Vulnerable

These initiatives by the Election Commission aim to empower the elderly and Divyang citizens, allowing them to participate in the democratic process with ease and dignity.
