Noida, India - In a concerning development, Noida police have filed a 1,200-page chargesheet against popular YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner, Elvish Yadav, alleging his involvement in a snake venom procurement racket. The chargesheet, submitted to a local court, unveils alarming details about Yadav's alleged role in orchestrating the supply of venom for rave parties.
According to the police, Elvish Yadav used a virtual phone number to communicate with his associates, Vinay and Ishwar, to coordinate the procurement of venom from snake charmers. The process involved Yadav contacting Vinay using the virtual number, who would then pass on the instructions to Ishwar. Ishwar, in turn, would inform the snake charmers, who would bring their snakes to a banquet hall owned by him, where the venom extraction would take place.
The police have found records of Elvish's virtual number in Vinay's call history, corroborating the allegations. The venom confiscated from the snake charmers has been identified as coming from krait snakes, a type of cobra. "We have filed a chargesheet against all named accused, including an adequate number of witness statements, and an expert from Mumbai's Department of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology," said Vidya Sagar Mishra, the police officer handling the case.
Elvish Yadav, who was previously held in Noida Jail, is currently out on bail. The case has been filed under the provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and for criminal conspiracy under section 120B of the Indian Penal Code.
This investigation comes on the heels of a raid conducted in Noida Sector 49, where five cobra snakes and nine other snakes were rescued, and snake venom was also recovered. The arrests that followed led the authorities to Elvish Yadav's alleged involvement in the illicit trade.
