The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Saini, chaired the state cabinet meeting at the Secretariat in Chandigarh, marking the first gathering since the allocation of ministerial portfolios. Held on the fourth floor in the main assembly hall, the meeting focused on crucial issues relevant to the state's development agenda.

Following the meeting, CM Nayab Singh Saini addressed the media, commending the unanimity among ministers in passing various proposals. He emphasised that the state is continuously working towards progress, building on what the previous CM Manohar Lal started. Key topics included the procurement of wheat and mustard crops, starting on March 26. The government aims to ensure smooth procurement operations, addressing any potential hurdles.

In a significant announcement, CM Saini discussed that the Election Code of Conduct will be lifted on June 4, providing the government with a 95-day window to execute its roadmap for development. Preparation for this period includes strategic planning to take the state forward. While decisions were made during the meeting, formal communication will be deferred until after the Election Code of Conduct is lifted, in adherence to electoral protocols.

The expanded cabinet, comprising 14 cabinet ministers and 7 state ministers (with independent charge), reflects a diverse array of leadership capable of making decisions aligned with the welfare of the state. With Lok Sabha election dates announced and the Model Code of Conduct in place, the cabinet meeting assumed significance in ensuring decisions adhere to electoral guidelines. Despite this, the meeting was instrumental in allocating resources for ongoing schemes and projects.

As the state braces for election time, the cabinet meeting exemplified the government's commitment to transparent governance and inclusive decision-making.
