The Haryana Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, has initiated a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, reassigning key officials across various departments. This overhaul comes on the eve of the Lok Sabha elections, marking a strategic move before the implementation of the election code of conduct.

1988-batch IAS officer TVSN Prasad has been entrusted with the responsibility of Chief Secretary, taking over from Sanjeev Kaushal, who has proceeded on leave. Additionally, Prasad will oversee crucial departments including General Administration, Human Resources, Personnel and Training, Parliamentary Affairs, Vigilance, Plan Coordination, Revenue and Disaster Management, and Home Department.

The Haryana Staff Selection Commission witnessed a notable development as Chairman Bhopal Singh tendered his resignation. Advocate General Baldev Raj Mahajan offered his resignation, although it was not accepted by the government.

In a move aimed at streamlining administrative functions, 17 Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officers were transferred to different positions. Notably, Vivek Kalia, an HCS officer of the 2011 batch, will serve as the OSD to the CM (Jan Samvad) while concurrently holding the role of Additional Director (Administration) of Information, Public Relations and Languages, and Art and Cultural Affairs.

As part of the reshuffle, TL Satyaprakash and Ramesh Chander Bidhan were appointed to key positions. Satyaprakash will assume the role of Managing Director at Haryana Minerals Ltd, New Delhi, while Bidhan has been appointed as the Secretary of the Haryana State Commission for Scheduled Castes.

Furthermore, Brahmjeet Singh Rangi and Pradeep Singh have been designated as District Municipal Commissioners of Palwal and Nuh, respectively, in addition to their current responsibilities.

Additional changes include the appointment of ADGP (Administration) Kala Ramachandran as the OSD for the Heritage and Tourism Department, with future plans for assuming the role of Principal Secretary upon the superannuation of MD Sinha. Amidst these shifts, Haryana Power Utilities Chairman PK Das has resigned, with his nomination recommended for the post of Chairman at the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority.
