Haryana Police have intensified their investigation into the murder of Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) state unit chief Nafe Singh Rathee and party worker Jai Kishan, killed in a hail of bullets in Jhajjar's Bahadurgarh. Amidst mounting political pressure and accusations, police are scrutinising a social media post purportedly claiming responsibility for the assassination, allegedly authored by UK-based gangster Kapil Sangwan.

The attack, occurring just ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, has triggered widespread condemnation and raised questions about the security measures for political leaders in the state. Rathee and Kishan were ambushed by assailants who opened fire on their vehicle near the Barahi railway crossing, leaving them fatally wounded.

Jhajjar police revealed that they are actively examining the social media post attributed to Sangwan, which not only admits to the crime but also alleges Rathee's affiliation with a rival gangster. As part of their investigation, police have registered a case against 15 individuals, including former BJP MLA Naresh Kaushik and others named in the FIR. Additionally, five unnamed suspects have been implicated, with charges under sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Arms Act, including murder.

The gravity of the situation has prompted Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij to announce the potential involvement of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the case. This decision underscores the significance of unravelling the complexities surrounding Rathee's assassination and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Meanwhile, senior INLD leader Abhay Singh Chautala has launched scathing criticism against the BJP-JJP government, accusing them of negligence in providing adequate security to Rathee, despite credible threats to his life. The controversy surrounding Rathee's murder has ignited political tensions, with opposition parties demanding swift and transparent action from the authorities.

As the investigation unfolds, the state remains gripped by a sense of apprehension and urgency, awaiting answers and accountability in the tragic demise of a prominent political figure. The pursuit of justice for Nafe Singh Rathee and Jai Kishan stands as a paramount priority amidst the clamour for truth and accountability.
