The Haryana government is planning to develop Kharkhoda as a modern satellite city with an estimated investment of ₹70,000–75,000 crore, a move expected to significantly boost employment and industrial growth in the region.
According to local MLA Pawan Kharkhoda, discussions are underway with global electric vehicle giant Tesla to set up a manufacturing plant in the Kharkhoda area. He said several rounds of talks have already taken place between the state government and Tesla officials, and there is strong hope that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed in the near future.
Speaking at a Makar Sankranti programme in Bahadurgarh, the MLA said Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has personally held multiple discussions with Tesla representatives. “We are optimistic that the agreement will be finalised soon. If Tesla sets up its plant here, it will bring large-scale investment and high-quality jobs to the region,” he said.
Kharkhoda is already emerging as an industrial hotspot following the establishment of the Maruti Suzuki manufacturing plant. Building on this momentum, the proposed satellite city will be developed with modern infrastructure, industrial zones, residential areas and improved connectivity. Officials believe the project will create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, benefiting youth across Haryana.
The MLA also stressed that the satellite city project would accelerate overall urban development, making Kharkhoda a key growth centre in the National Capital Region’s extended belt. Reacting to recent law and order concerns, including threats received by Badli MLA Kuldeep Vats, Pawan Kharkhoda said strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disturb peace.
“The government will not tolerate any challenge to law and order,” he said. Expressing confidence in the upcoming state and Union budgets, he added that both would focus on public welfare, development and job creation, aligning with Haryana’s long-term growth vision.
