Ambala police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for commuters traveling on National Highway routes as the Quami Insaf Morcha plans a Delhi march from Shambhu border Thursday. Route diversions will be effective from 5 am to minimize disruptions.

Expected Traffic Impact

DSP Ramesh Kumar explained that members of Punjab organizations will gather at Shambhu border and march toward Delhi to press their demands. Anticipating significant traffic congestion on the Ambala-Rajpura road, police have prepared alternative route arrangements.

Alternate Routes for Travelers

Vehicles traveling from Delhi to Punjab cities including Rajpura, Patiala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Amritsar should take the left side diversion at Ambala-Chandigarh road proceeding via Lalru. This alternate route allows smooth passage to all major Punjab destinations without encountering the protest march.

Traffic coming from Hisar, Kaithal, and 152-D areas heading toward Punjab through Shambhu border should similarly divert through Lalru, connecting to Chandigarh and onward to Rajpura, Patiala, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Amritsar.

Police Advisory

Authorities have prepared several detour routes that avoid roads around the protest site that could be closed. Police are calling on the public to travel only when necessary to avoid being inconvenienced during the period of the march.

The traffic arrangements have been done to strike a balance between the citizens' right to peaceful protest and commuters for smooth travel on this vital corridor that connects Delhi to Punjab.
