Anju Yadav from Narnaul overcomes personal tragedy to join Rajasthan Police Service; first woman in family to secure government job

DSP Anju Yadav

Anju Yadav's rise from a village in Narnaul district of Haryana to becoming a Deputy Superintendent of Police in Rajasthan Police is victory against immense personal suffering. She is 37 years old and has shown that perseverance can conquer even the toughest situations.

Early Life and Education Foundation

Anju is born in Dhaulera village, Narnaul. She is the eldest among four sisters. She started her education in the nearby government school where she passed twelfth grade. Thereafter, she attended college level graduation through correspondence and acquired a B.Ed degree from Narnaul College, laying the academic plank that would serve her well in her professional life later on.

Following her marriage to a Gandala village family in the Alwar district, Anju had to strike a balance between her commitments to her family and her career goals. Even after giving birth to a baby in 2012, she continued her professional growth and never let conventional norms limit her potential.

Professional Journey Through Teaching

Anju's career path took her to different teaching positions in different locations. From 2016 to 2018, she worked as a teacher at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh. After moving to a government school in Jaipur, where she taught till 2019, she spent five years working as a government teacher in Delhi from 2019 to 2024. She gained professional skills and exposure to numerous administrative systems from these diverse teaching experiences. Her consistent performance in different educational institutions proved her adaptability and dedication to public service.

Personal Loss Becomes Turning Point

Anju experienced a personal loss in 2021 when her spouse passed away. At that point, many would have given up on their career aspirations, but Anju chose a different path. She went back to her parents' house with a young boy to raise, and her father's words of support served as her motivation.

The support she received from her father during this trying time was essential in helping her stay focused. Instead of viewing widowhood as the end of her goals, she channeled her grief into a determination to provide her kid with a secure future.

Achievement Against All Odds

In spite of personal loss, Anju cleared the recruitment process for Rajasthan Police Service in 2021. After undergoing training, she was appointed as DSP in May 2024, swearing oath during the 55th batch passing out parade at Rajasthan Police Academy in Jaipur. Anju's Success story is true inspiration for all the women in Haryana who often face significant and social barriers while pursuing their professional goals.
