Boyfriend Kills Girlfriend Over Marriage Pressure in Faridabad Hotel

10-Year Long Relationship Ends in Tragedy as Man Strangles Woman Who Was Forcing Him to Marry Despite Religious Differences

A shocking murder case has come to light in Faridabad where a man killed his girlfriend of 10 years inside a hotel room. The accused, Deepak, strangled 33-year-old Shibba after calling her to meet at the hotel, and then fled from the scene.

According to Shibba's family, she had left home saying she was going to office on July 24. She even called her mother in the evening to ask about dinner, but after that her phone went silent. Police have arrested the accused who has confessed to his crime during questioning.

Deepak told police that Shibba was forcing him to marry her, which was troubling him a lot. He said this pressure drove him to commit the murder. The accused further revealed that since Shibba was Muslim, he didn't want to take their relationship forward into marriage, but she kept putting pressure on him repeatedly.

Police have presented Deepak in court and taken him on two-day remand for detailed questioning. They are also investigating if anyone else was involved in this incident.

The hotel staff made the grim discovery when they opened the room door after getting no response. On July 25, the body of 33-year-old Shibba was found in a hotel room in IP Colony, Sector-31. She lived in Mohan Baba Nagar, Badarpur, Delhi and worked as an insurance advisor in a private bank.

Hotel staff told police that Shibba had come to the hotel with a young man on July 24. The man left the hotel on Thursday evening. When there was no response from the room till Friday afternoon, they got suspicious. When staff opened the door, they found Shibba's body lying on the bed.

Shibba's mother Razia said her daughter had left for office in the morning on July 24. She had called her mother at lunch time to ask about food, but never returned home that night. Family members kept calling her all night, but she didn't answer. The next day when they were going to file a police complaint, Sector-31 police informed them about her death.

Shibba's uncle Riazuddin revealed that his niece had not married to take care of her mother. She was the second of three sisters. Her elder sister Shama and younger sister Saiba are both married. Shibba lived at home with her mother. Shibba's father had died about 20 years ago.

In her complaint to police, mother Razia accused Deepak, a young man living in their neighborhood, of taking her daughter to a hotel and murdering her. Sector-31 police registered the case based on the mother's complaint and started investigation.

Police found marks on the victim's neck, suggesting she was strangled to death. The case was handed over to Crime Branch DLF for investigation. Crime Branch traced Deepak's mobile number, located him and arrested him from Nizamuddin area in Delhi.

Police investigation revealed that both Shibba and accused Deepak lived in the same neighborhood with their houses close to each other. They had known each other for about 10 years and were in a relationship.

During questioning, Deepak told police he had known Shibba for the past 10 years and they had a long-term relationship. Recently, Shibba was pressuring him to get married. He didn't want to marry because they belonged to different religions. Since Shibba was Muslim, he didn't want to take the relationship forward, but she kept pressuring him. Deepak said he booked a hotel room and called Shibba there. He first tried to convince her, but when she didn't agree, he killed her in anger.
