Army Veteran's Sarcastic Post About Gurugram Garbage Goes Viral

Retired Officer Yashpal Singh Mor's Video Shows Shocking Waste Management Crisis in Millennium City, Sparks Online Outrage and Public Anger

Retired Army Veteran Yashpal Singh Mor Posts Video of the Garbage Crisis

A social media post by retired army officer Yashpal Singh Mor has brought Gurugram's garbage problem back into the spotlight. His video showing the city's waste management crisis has gone viral across all social media platforms, creating a storm of criticism against civic authorities.

The video post depicts the sad sight near to the tall residential building where huge piles of garbage has accumulated. Stray cows and dogs are seen wandering over these heaps of rubbish, showcasing the utter collapse of waste collection in the city.

Mor's post grabbed attention because of its sarcastic and mocking caption which made fun of the Gurugram's 'Millennium City' title. He stated: “The joy of living in the millennium city of Gurugram, Haryana. Most animal and garbage friendly city in India. Such scenes can be seen anywhere around the city, you don't have to come from very far to witness such an amazing place.”

The retired officer continued his sarcasm, saying: "Very well done to our civic agencies, no other city can boast such initiatives. Gurugram has set a new bench in urban planning and sustainability."

Public Response and Online Reactions

The post immediately connected with frustrated residents and internet users who have been dealing with similar problems daily. Social media users responded with their own sarcastic comments and genuine anger about the situation.

One user sarcastically replied: "Sir, this is called co-existence. Our cities provide so much fodder for these animals that they are never hungry. It's so humane and kind of us and our city planners." Another user added: "Absolutely, sir! Gurugram is clearly pioneering a whole new model of 'open ecosystem sustainability'."

Many users showed real frustration and disgust while reacting to the post. "Every corner of the city is like this. It's disgusting, pathetic, and I don't have words to describe how inefficient the waste management system in Gurgaon is," wrote one angry resident.

Follow-up Visit Reveals Situation Still Not Upto the Mark

Yashpal Singh Mor visited the same location again as after his post went viral and reports emerged of a massive cleaning drive in response to his tweet and instagram post. However, his follow-up post revealed that the situation remained largely unchanged.

"Visited the same spot again after reports of massive cleaning drive after my viral tweet yesterday. Found the situation quite pathetic, though some garbage has been disposed from the top," Mor wrote in his second post.

The retired officer also raised deeper questions about civic responsibility and animal welfare. "Should we as citizens also be responsible? What about animals? Is this how we treat our cows? The entire millennium city is under huge dumps of garbage," he added, highlighting the broader scope of the problem.
