
A 16-year-old boy lost his life in Hisar after a confrontation between police and a group of youngsters during a loud birthday party escalated into chaos. The incident occurred when police asked the youth to stop playing DJ music loudly on the street.
According to the police, when they intervened to shut down the blaring DJ system, some of the boys climbed onto a rooftop and allegedly pelted stones at the officers. In the ensuing chaos, two boys jumped from the terrace. One of them, identified as Ganesh, a 10th-grade student, sustained critical injuries and later died in the hospital.
The situation further intensified on Tuesday during the post-mortem at the civil hospital. Ganesh’s grieving family refused to take the body and raised slogans against the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police. They demanded the suspension of all personnel from the 12 Quarters and Sabzi Mandi police posts.
The protest escalated when one of the piolice officer came near to the protest site which eventually outraging the gathered crowd. People chased the officer, and police had to intervene to control the situation.
Ganesh’s death has sparked anger and raised questions about the handling of minor offenses by local police forces. The investigation is ongoing, and district authorities are under pressure to act swiftly and transparently.
