
A horrific crime has shaken Faridabad district where a mother allegedly threw her own 2-year-old child into a canal. The incident occurred around 10 PM on Sunday when an eyewitness spotted the woman at the Agra Canal near BPTP Chowk.
The Accused
The accused, identified as 38-year-old Megha, a housewife and resident of Sainik Colony H Block in Faridabad, was taken into police custody after a female passerby witnessed the shocking act. Megha and her son went missing on the evening of May 11 and after that family members searched around the neighborhood but couldn't find them
Eyewitness Informed Police
The eyewitness, who was on her way to drop off her daughter, stated she observed Megha standing at the canal with her child. Moments later, the woman allegedly threw the toddler into the water. The shocked witness immediately alerted police, who arrived at the scene and detained Megha.
Police Officials have revealed that the accused mother Megha has been suffering from mental health issues and has been going under treatment from past few years. Investigators are also exploring potential links to occult practices as a possible motive behind the crime. Megha's husband, Kapil Lukra, works for a private company.
The police are currently searching for the child in the canal waters as the rescue operations are still going on. Police is investigating this case in all the determined directions to find out the real cause of this tragic incident.
