In a significant development in the Bhawna Yadav murder case, police have uncovered that the accused, Udesh Yadav, was romantically involved with the deceased MBBS doctor from Rajasthan. This revelation contradicts initial statements made by the victim's family, who had identified him as the perpetrator without disclosing their relationship.
According to police sources, Bhawna and Udesh had known each other for several years before their relationship was disrupted when Bhawna left to study medicine in the Philippines while Udesh was married off by his family. Despite these circumstances, the two reportedly continued to meet after Bhawna returned to India.
"Our investigation has revealed that they maintained contact even after their paths diverged," said a senior police officer involved in the case. "Bhawna had been visiting Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) regularly, and witness statements confirm they were seen together on multiple occasions."
The case came to light on April 24 when Udesh called Bhawna's family, informing them that she had suffered severe burns. Her family immediately rushed her to a private hospital in Jaipur, where she succumbed to her injuries late that night despite medical intervention.
Bhawna completed her MBBS degree from a medical institution in the Philippines, was preparing for qualifying examinations in Hisar at the time of the incident. Medical reports suggest her burns were consistent seems more of an attack rather than an accident, though forensic details remain under seal due to the ongoing investigation.
"We are examining all angles, including the possibility that their prior relationship and its complications may have played a role in this tragedy," added the investigating officer. "The accused remains at large, but we have formed multiple teams to apprehend him."
Sources close to the investigation suggest that the family may have been unaware of the extent of their relationship or chose to withhold this information due to social considerations.
Police officials have indicated that Udesh could be arrested at any moment as they have gathered substantial evidence linking him to the crime. The case has sent shockwaves through the medical community in Rajasthan.
As the investigation progresses, authorities are also reviewing communications between the deceased and the accused to establish a clear timeline of events leading up to the incident that claimed the life of the promising Dr. Bhawna.
