The Haryana government has provided relief to TGT teachers serving in government schools under HKRN. The government has extended their contracts for one year. These teachers will now be able to continue their duties until March 31, 2026. Earlier, on April 1, 2025, these teachers had been shown as surplus and relieved from duties by the Education Department.
The Education Directorate has issued instructions to all District Elementary Education Officers. According to the order issued by the Education Directorate, teachers appointed to TGT positions who had been relieved due to being declared surplus will have their contracts extended until March 31, 2026 (1 year). These teachers will again teach students at the same schools where they were teaching before.
Meanwhile, the education department is also considering extending the contracts of 252 PGT teachers who were removed from schools after being declared surplus. The Education Directorate may soon issue a letter regarding this after consideration. There's a possibility that like TGT teachers, PGT teachers' contracts may also be extended.
