The Haryana government has directed all Deputy Commissioners to heighten fire safety preparedness as summer temperatures rise and harvesting season progresses. The Revenue and Disaster Management Department issued formal instructions Sunday requiring fully operational equipment, round-the-clock staffing, and regular monitoring systems.

Officials must ensure fire tenders remain functional, maintain adequate trained personnel even during nights and holidays, and submit detailed weekly reports to state authorities every Friday throughout the harvest season. The directive comes because of increasing fire incidents across Haryana, particularly involving dry crop residue in agricultural fields.

"With meteorological forecasts predicting rise in temperature in coming days, the risk of fire outbreaks remains high," an official stated. Interdepartmental coordination between fire services, police, agriculture departments, and disaster management teams is crucial for quick responses during emergencies.

Deputy Commissioners must also establish village and block-level monitoring systems while organizing awareness campaigns targeting farming communities.
