Rural areas across 11 districts in Haryana will receive electricity for only 16 hours daily instead of 24 hours, according to a new schedule released by the state power department. The cuts, which will affect domestic consumers in rural areas, will be implemented starting tomorrow.

The order applies to both Hisar and Delhi zones. The Hisar zone comprises five districts including Hisar and Bhiwani, while the Delhi zone includes six districts including Gurugram. According to department officials, the 16 hours of electricity will be provided in two separate blocks during the day.

In the Delhi zone, power will be supplied from 6:30 PM to 6:00 AM the next morning, and again from 11:15 AM to 3:45 PM. The Hisar zone will receive electricity from 7:00 PM to 6:30 AM, followed by another supply period from 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

The power department justified the cuts by citing increased urban demand during summer months, which necessitates rural supply adjustments. However, rural feeders already designated for 24-hour supply will be exempted from this new schedule.

The order, issued by the Superintending Engineer's office of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam Limited (DHBVNL) in Hisar, also emphasizes maintaining grid discipline through zero-cut enforcement and load restrictions. Officials have been instructed to prominently display these Power Regulatory Measures (PRM) at all substations, offices, and public places.

The employees violating these guidelines will face strict action as the new system ensures regulated power supply to rural areas.
