Porn-Addicted Technician Arrested for Digital Rape in Gurugram Hospital

ICU Worker Sexually Assaulted Unconscious Air Hostess After Watching Porn Videos

Porn-Addicted Technician

A disturbing case has emerged from Gurugram's Medanta Hospital where a porn-addicted technician sexually assaulted an unconscious air hostess in the ICU. Deepak, 25, from Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, was caught after police examined CCTV footage showing him entering the victim's room around the time of the assault on April 6. Police investigation revealed that Deepak watched pornographic content both before and after digitally raping the 46-year-old air hostess who was on a ventilator. His mobile search history confirmed his addiction to porn videos.

"He deliberately kept other staff busy with various tasks to ensure nobody witnessed the assault," said DCP Dr. Arpit Jain. "The suspect confessed during questioning that his intentions turned malicious the moment the air hostess was brought to the ICU."

How the Crime Unfolded

The victim, who was in Gurugram for airline training, fell seriously ill on April 5. Initially taken to a panel hospital, her deteriorating condition prompted her transfer to Medanta. On April 6 around 9 PM, while the semi-conscious patient was receiving care, Deepak entered her room. According to the victim's statement, she could hear everything happening around her despite being nearly unconscious. Deepak asked nurses detailed questions about her condition.

Using the pretext of checking her waistband size, he put his hand under the sheet and sexually assaulted her. After the assault, he pulled the sheet up to her nose and said everything was fine.

When another nurse noticed blood on the freshly changed sheet moments later, a colleague dismissed it as menstruation. The terrified victim remained silent.

High-Profile Investigation

After being discharged on April 13, the air hostess informed her husband the next day and filed a police complaint. Gurugram Police registered an FIR at Sadar Police Station and formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

Investigators examined over 800 CCTV footage clips and questioned 60 doctors and staff members before identifying Deepak, who had been working at the hospital for five months as an ICU machine technician after completing his BSc (OT) degree. Deepak has been sent to jail following his court appearance on Saturday. Medanta Hospital has terminated his employment.

Health Minister Aarti Rao has directed the Gurugram Chief Medical Officer to submit a complete report on the air hostess's treatment and discharge. A medical board will examine the victim on Monday as part of the ongoing investigation.
