Haryana's electricity department has shown significant negligence in billing practices, creating hardship for ordinary citizens. Power Minister Anil Vij revealed that a staggering 57,717 incorrect electricity bills were generated - 39,477 by UHBVN (Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam) and 18,240 by DHBVN (Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam).

Officials have promised these billing errors will be rectified by May. Additionally, the department has announced improved service timelines - faulty transformers, feeders, wires, and conductors will be replaced within one hour in urban areas and within two hours in rural areas.

To increase transparency, an online portal is being developed that will allow tracking of pending electricity theft cases. This system aims to improve accountability and ensure better service delivery for Haryana residents.
